“Things are beautiful if you love them. / Life is very nice, but it lacks form. It's the aim of art to give it some. / It takes a certain courage and a certain greatness to be truly base”. JEAN ANOUILH
French performer Aline Jaulin creates beauty, admires art, and tries to keep herself grounded. She loves Jean Anouilh´s play Antigone, a tragedy inspired by Greek mythology and the play of the same name by Sopholes.
ANTIGONE is a videoart piece created by Pedro Valiente and Fernando Ampuero. It presents a woman split in two. The performer makes movements inspired by tai-chi, an internal Chinese martial arts practiced for both defense training and health benefits. The background shows images of nature –forest, ice, plants, rocks… Water is a visual leitmotiv. And a metaphor of life.
