"Narcissus was once walking by a lake or river and decided to drink some water; he saw his reflection in the water and was surprised by the beauty he saw; he became entranced by the reflection of himself. He could not obtain the object of his desire though, and he died at the banks of the river or lake from his sorrow." [Greek Myths]
In NARCISSUS, an empty space is covered step by step with metallic lines. It resembles the crystal water when Narcissus falls in love with himself. At the end, as the silver lake turns into the Narcissus flower, the character is reborn into to a new life.
Here the pencil is a person as the drawing progresses by human action. Aluminum evolves creating, instead of body painting, a painting body --a body that paints.
Painting-performance by Pedro Valiente and Alfredo Miralles, performed by Mihaela Wabra Cuckler, and shot from the top a three story historical building.
